During this series, I’ve written about slowing down and focusing on what matters, but in order to do that, I have to name those things that matter most. And then I have to be willing to give up all those things which don’t.
Giving up the mundane things and distractions I’ve come to know as daily life is harder than it seems at first. It isn’t at all easy to break cycles, habits, addictions. But if I don’t, I will never be able to live the life I so deeply desire.
Does that mean I will lose some followers and friends? Probably. But that’s okay. Because those that stick around are the ones with whom I will develop meaningful and lasting friendships and connections.
Does that mean I will start saying no to things I may want to do? Yes.
Will I be happier? Absolutely.
It is time to live my life on purpose, focusing on what matters most.
