A Southern-Style Thanksgiving Menu

Once again, I will be hosting Thanksgiving. One day, I'll be brave enough to insist we pot-luck the day, but since I haven't gotten there yet, all of the cooking falls on me. And so begins what I like to refer to as The Anxiety-Riddled Holiday Season. You know what helps stress? Food. In particular, comfort food. And cheese. So it's a good thing my Southern-style Thanksgiving menu is full of casseroles.

Healthy? No. Delicious? Oh, yeah.

Turkey - Because it's Thanksgiving.

Dressing - We're talking cast iron skillet cornbread dressing. Because it's Thanksgiving.

Hashbrown Casserole - Better than Cracker Barrel's. Guaranteed.

Green Bean Casserole - Not the kind with cream of mushroom and fried onions. Trust me, you're going to want this recipe.

Macaroni and Cheese - If you're a fan of cheese, you'll hear angels sing. Not to brag, but lives have changed after eating my mac-n-cheese.

Creamed Corn Casserole - It's just plain good.

Deviled Eggs - Where one or more gather in the South, let there be deviled eggs.

Rolls - Carbs. Need I say more?

Pecan Pie - See deviled eggs. Same reason applies to pecan pie.

Pumpkin Pie - I refuse - REFUSE - to have a Thanksgiving without pumpkin pie. In the past, I have been known to pitch a fit until one appeared. You may say that's ridiculous. I say that's dedication to Thanksgiving.

Peach Cobbler - I have the most ridiculously easy cobbler recipe that has ever existed. Three ingredients, y'all. Stay tuned.
