You may have noticed it’s been pretty quiet around the blog and our social media the past few months. Part of that is because we have had some pretty great things happening: CSE has had a busy season with some stunning weddings (blog posts coming soon!), I’ve been working on some pretty exciting projects I hope to launch by the end of the year, and what I think is the best news of all – Cliff and I brought our baby girl home! If we are Instagram friends, you’ve seen a few Insta stories and peeks of her, but I’ll be sharing more about our her and our adoption journey here on the blog in the coming weeks.
The other side of that has been a little less exciting, but much more refining. I’ll be blogging about this in a lot more detail over the coming weeks and months, but today is all about Fresh Starts and New Beginnings. As my friend Lara Casey says, there’s nothing magical about January 1. It’s never too late to begin.
So, I’m getting back to goal setting. Business goals and personal goals. Monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals.
I’m going to focus and drown out the noise.
I’m going to find joy in every day. Where I am right now.
I’m going to be present. Soak up all of the moments that seem to go by so fast.
The thing I’ve learned most over the past several months is that I am not in control. God’s plans for my life are far greater than anything I can ever imagine. And the best thing I can do is to let go of how things “should” be or how I’d like them to be (and how I’d like to plan for what’s going to happen), and trust Him to do what He does best.
I’m letting go. Of anxiety. Of resentment. Of fear. Of comparison.
I’m opening my heart to genuine kindness and joy. Not the kind that is just on the surface because it’s supposed to be, but the kind that comes from deep within and radiates through everything.
So, what does this mean for CSE and the blog? We’re still going to be blogging real weddings. But we’re also going to be mixing in a little bit of business talk for fellow creative entrepreneurs and wedding planners, a little bit of personal and life, and a little bit of lifestyle and entertaining content.
So here’s to fresh starts and new beginnings, friends!
